Scrum project management for boosted agility
At TSYS, our application lifecycle management follows the scrum methodology of project management, which is a characteristic feature of an agile organization. In the widespread presence of ambiguity and complexity in the IT realm, we adopt this methodology to establish a smooth-flowing process for managing IT projects. Here’s how we go about with it:
Backlog creation
After our first meeting, our team will create a sprint backlog, which is kind of a to-do list. We also create a product backlog, which enumerates all the features that you wish to have in your IT solution. Our backlog will list down all the tasks that our team has to accomplish to deliver the solution as committed.
Assigning roles and responsibilities
We designate a scrum master, who will be in charge of doing all the talking with you on a day-to-day basis. Instead of being a hierarchal authority, he/she is more like a facilitator of your project. He/she will make sure that our team conforms to the practices and rules, as decided earlier. He/she makes sure that our team performs the best by removing all hindrances.
We also appoint a development team that will be a cross-functional, self-organization group of experts. This team will be in charge of delivering shippable increments at the end of each sprint. This group goes beyond traditional developers to include all those people who engage in the creation of your solution. All these people will keep you in the loop at every stage by sharing work-in-progress reports in the form of burndown charts.
Our Scrum-based software development process makes it easier to determine whether or not a sprint or product release is on time and has all work finished by the stipulated date as planned.
Delivery
The ultimate goal of our scrum project management methodology is to deliver a new software solution every two to four weeks. As such, you can expect to get the first iteration of your software solution in flat three weeks. We ensure that this iteration of the product is in line with requirements laid down in the backlogs.
Your assigned product owner is the champion of your business case. Our highly committed team work hand in hand with the product owner to refine the backlog, develop the acceptance criteria, participate in periodic status calls and retrospectives, and review the deliverables so you can be sure that there won't be much back-and-forth, saving us both valuable time.
